Letters From Our Friends and Donors

Every week we receive many personal notes from our donors and friends around the world.  Here are a few for your encouragement...

March 17, 2009

Dear Friends at ANM,

I have a burden for Sharon and her work with the lepers in Burma.  I only wish I had more money to give, but even this [offering] is a sacrifice for me.  I believe with all my heart in what ANM is doing.  Using native workers is so much effective than sending a foreign person who doesn’t know the language or the customs.  So I thank all of you for the work you do.

Bless Bo Barredo for me.  He still blesses my life—even though it’s been 15 years since he was at my church.  I now attend a church close to my home, and I am blessed with a godly pastor and wife.

I will keep you in my prayers.

(The following letter was written to a friend of our ministry)

January 2009

Hi B.,

I wanted to take a moment and thank you for supporting and encouraging the work… at Advancing Native Missions.  [We] had the opportunity to help several others load the container for Ghana an Tuesday.  The work was not easy, yet everyone was happy and energetic.  Complete strangers were working as partners to carry heavy objects.  The time quickly passed with a jovial atmosphere.  When it was filled and on its way, we went into the main building to tour the establishment and meet some of the incredible people who volunteer there… Every person we met and office we peeked into had a genuine smile to share.  We were thanked profusely for our help…. The walls were lined with photos of missionaries located all over the world….  [We] were so blessed by our time with ANM and by the people we met… [We] drove home, stuttering over our words in an effort to articulate how we had both been so deeply blessed.  Needless to say, we have already scheduled days to go and volunteer whatever skills we have that can be of service.

Dear Oliver,

Wow! Overwhelmed!  These are two words to describe my visit to ANM last Thursday.  The place was full of life - the life that Jesus gives.  I had the opportunity to hear several stories of people's journey with Christ and realized there were multitude of stories yet unheard. I was grateful for the opportunity to visit and get a taste of ANM.

I don't know if you have come across the book entitled "It" by Craig Groeschel.  Here is what he writes in the preface. "...if you've ever been a part of a ministry that had it, you knew you were part of something special. In other words, you knew it when you saw it. And it was an awesome work of God that couldn't be contained, couldn't be harnessed, and couldn't be explained."  I left ANM knowing that I experienced it.

Dear Brother Ibu and our Friends at ANM,

We were so blessed to hear about the great work God is doing through you in Ghana. The newsletter we received from you in May opened our eyes to the many different projects you are a part of in your area of the world. We especially enjoyed the update on the Goat Project and pray for continued success. Our children were very excited a few months ago when we were able to help send a few goats to help the children of Ghana.

There was one particular story in the newsletter that really impacted us. It was the story of the three school teachers seeking your help with building a library and toilet. A few years ago, we had some major problems with the sewer system of our home and it was difficult to understand why we were facing the trial. Now, I believe it was for us to gain understanding and compassion for the teachers' situation. In addition, we are homeschooling family who knows the value a library has for our children. We believe God wants us to give toward the building of the facilities the teachers asked you for. We praise God that they have given their lives to Jesus and pray that this gift would strengthen their faith and testimony to the many children whose lives they are impacting.

We will pray for God's continued blessing on your work. To Him all glory belongs for the great things He has done.

With love,
K.E. Pottsville, PA
